SPIRITUAL AWAKENING (2007-Today)

In 2007, he joined the Word of Life PH Church, forming part of their Worship band alongside singer Nadine Axisa, drummer Sandro Grech and former Tribali guitarist Jean Pierre Zammit. On the professional side, he continued to maintain a presence on the live circuit through his regular solo performances in local bars and hotels, among them Radisson Golden Sands Spa Resort, Radisson Blu Resort, Intercontinental Hotel and Westin Dragonara. He also fronted the William Mangion Band, now boasting a line-up that included guitarist Jimmy Bartolo, bassist Maurice Vella, keyboardist Denis Mallia, drummer Jason Smith, with Nadine Axisa and Fiona Cauchi joining William on vocals; a formation that played several major local events, including the Farsons  Beer Festival and the Delicata Wine Festival. In 2008 William hosted a music marathon that was broadcast on all Maltese TV channels, an event aimed at raising funds for the Eden Foundation. Around September 2011, William produced and performed at 'All About You', an open-air Christian rock festival that was held at the Buskett Road House, Rabat. A one-off event, the performance featured several guests, among them the then-budding guitarist Kyle Drakard (who was only 15 years old at the time), drummer Sandro Grech, Noel Delia on percussion, Denis Mallia on keyboards, Joseph Axiaq on bass, Dylan Fiteni on acoustic guitar and Nadine Axisa and Phyllisienne Brincat on backing vocals. The concert was a farewell of sorts, as shortly after William relocated to the US where he chose to serve God in a number of Church ministries Stateside. The decision to go the US came after William was approached by Dr. Larry Ollison's Ministry, his role there being the director of music for Dr. Ollison’s Walk on the Water Faith Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. After 7 months leading the Walk on the Water Faith Band, William was asked to carry on the same work at Aylesbury in the UK as part of Wendy Preston’s Ministry. He spent another three months as the music director of the Wendy Preston worship band. Moving back to Malta, William remains an active member of his church, as well as a familiar face on the local music scene as a professional artist, thanks largely to his ongoing schedule of hotel and piano bar performances and live gigs in various other nightspots, as well as his occasional involvement in local radio and TV shows.  Meanwhile, William is still performing regularly all over the island, his sets featuring both familiar tunes as well as some new material.
